How to Deal with a Hairy Neck

The only man who can carry off a hairy neck is one with wither long hair or who is perfectly happy sporting a hair back. If you fall into either of these two groups good luck to you. Otherwise, take heed, shave your neck.
Necks are funny, sensitive things. They also have the unfortunate problem of having shirt collars rubbing on them which irritates dry indelicately shaven skin even more. They seem to catch the sun in the summer and when they get burnt, dried out or sore are uncomfortable and obvious.
Before You Shave.....
Before shaving your neck make sure your neck is clean, well lathered, gelled, or oiled before you shave it. If you have anyways sensitive skin please use a sensitive shaving gel like Nivea Sensitive Shaving Gel or shaving oil like Total Shaving oil.
Your blades need to be sharp and ideally, a razor-like Gillette Fusion or Gillette mach3 Blades, which give an extra close shave and allow you to get two to three days from a shave, should be used.
Moisturise
Always, always moisturize after you shave your neck. If you have a beard just use your L’Oreal Hair oil (or Argan Oil) that you use on your beard on your neck as well. With stubble, your normal face cream like L’Oreal Men Expert Day Cream can be easily popped on the neck when you are doing your face.
If your neck is red and sore a healing cream such as Aveeno soothes and cools like none other.
Ingrown Hairs
The final issue with hairy necks is the dreaded ingrown hair. These cause spots on your neck which are not only sore but also look awful. What happens here is that dead, dry skin on the surface blocks skin pores and leads to oil from the pores getting trapped. This oil builds but and forms either blackheads or whiteheads and can, if they become infected, form big spots.
Dealing with Spots on Your Neck
If you tend to have acne or spots anyway you will use an exfoliator, such as Garnier Active to keep your skin clear and your pores unblocked. Simply use this on your neck to prevent ingrown hairs. Likewise, if you use a toner live Garnier Active give your neck a wipe when you are doing your face. It will remove excess oil and the top layer of dead skin without irritating.
