My current favorite foundation is L’Oréal’s infallible 24hr Fresh wear in the shade Ivory (20). https://www.dpharmacy.ie/loreal-infallible-24h-fresh-wear-20-ivory-30ml  I absolutely love this product. Today I’m going to share with you why I love this foundation, how I use it, who should use it, and its pros and cons.

 

 

Why I love this product?

 

L’Oréal's infallible 24hr Fresh wear is long-wearing, has great coverage (I would say medium/buildable to full coverage) and the color is perfect for my skin tone which I usually find quite difficult to match.

I have typically Irish skin, pale and sensitive, prone to dehydration (as most Irish skin is), and oily in parts. Add to that occasional breakouts and periods of real dryness, it is a total mishmash depending on the day and the time of the month.

 

 

This foundation, however, suits my skin no matter what my skin decides to do. It has fantastic wearability, doesn’t feel thick on the skin even though it provides great coverage and has no harsh fragrance so doesn’t react on my sensitive skin. 

 

I use the lightest shade in the range which suits my skin tone and I would say that this foundation does oxidize to about a half a shade darker. Oxidization is the chemical reaction that can occur when a product mixes with oxygen from the environment which can then make the product turn a different colour, usually darker.

 

 

My Top Tip

 

Always take oxidization into account when purchasing a product with colour, particularly foundations and concealers.

 

 

 

 

How I use this product:

 

When using this product, I pop a REN firming and smoothing serum and a dermalogica prisma protect moisturiser with spf 30 onto my clean face. I then prime my face with dermalogica hydra blur primer which I have also been really enjoying. It is water based as is the foundation so these two work really well together. 

 

I use about 1½ pumps and this will give my face flawless full coverage.

 

I dot the foundation around my face focusing on the middle and I then use a beauty blender to blend and buff the foundation outwards using a continuous dabbing motion,  towards my hairline, down to my jawbone and out to my ears. The result is a flawless, smooth full coverage base.

 

Based on using this product on my sensitive skin, I would say that this foundation is suitable for all skin types, skin conditions, and all ages. It really conforms to my skin on any given day whether I’m oily/combination/dry or sensitive. In short I Love it!

 

 

Pros and Cons of this product

 

Pros:

  • Great for all skin types
  • The natural finish on the skin
  • No flashback in photographs
  • Great value for money 
  • Glass bottle with Pump (Great for Hygiene purposes)

 

Cons:

  • Can Oxidise (depending on skin type)
