How should I clean my denture properly?

To clean your denture, start by removing it and rinsing off any food particles. Use a soft brush made for dentures along with a denture cleanser — not regular toothpaste, as it can be too abrasive. Brush gently to avoid damage. After brushing, soak your denture in a cleansing solution as directed on the label. This helps remove stains and bacteria. Rinse it thoroughly before putting it back in your mouth.

Can I wear my denture while sleeping?

It's usually better to take your denture out while sleeping. Removing it allows your gums to rest and reduces the risk of irritation or infection. Wearing a denture 24 hours a day without a break can increase the chance of sore spots or fungal growth. Letting your mouth rest overnight helps keep the tissues healthy.

How often should denture adhesive be used?

Denture adhesive can be used daily if you need extra hold or comfort, but it’s not always necessary. Some people use it only when eating certain foods or during social events for added security. If your denture fits well, you may not need adhesive all the time. Apply it in small amounts — more does not mean better hold.
