How Naturtint Permanent Colour Works

Like any true permanent colour, this one has to get inside the hair to cover grey for good, which means opening the hair's outer layer, the cuticle.

Permanent hair colour works by opening the outer layer of the hair, called the cuticle, so the colour can get inside the hair fibre rather than just sitting on the surface. Once inside, the colour develops and locks in, which is why permanent hair dye lasts much longer than temporary or semi-permanent colour. It can cover grey properly, change your shade more strongly and only fully disappears as the hair grows out, although the colour can still soften or fade over time.

Ordinary dyes use ammonia to blast it open, and that is what causes the smell, the scalp sting and the dryness.

This product uses a gentler alkaliser instead, with only the minimum peroxide needed to develop the colour, so the hair is opened kindly rather than forced.

The colour is deposited deep inside the hair where it stays permanently, while plant and seed oils help protect the hair through the process.
